The Grinder Gym instructors are an elite group of fitness professionals that are in a league of their own. All of our trainers are certified and most are competitive bodybuilders or professional fitness models so you have the benefit of their vast knowledge and experience.

Dave picked up his first barbell at the age of 8 years old and started personal training in 1991. Dave is someone with real life "in the trenches and under the bar" experience. The standard Dave has set for himself is to be continually recognized as one of the best in the world. Dave has help transform the lives of thousands.

Dave has attained a wide variety of certifications and specializations from over a dozen nationally recognized organization. He has his own online fitness and nutrition radio network and is a contributor for many of the best online fitness and nutrition websites. Additionally, Dave is on many expert panels and helps to consult with many of the industry top Health & Fitness companies.

Dave has made it his life's mission to motivate and teach others how to lead a more healthy and fit lifestyle and to wage a war against obesity. His objectives are to educate and empower, to expose the sources of fitness and weight loss deception, and to assist in changing the lives of people everywhere.

Dave will teach you how to turn failure into success and not to accept excuses. He will motivate you to achieve the results you seek. Yes, he can teach you to exercise correctly and to eat the right foods, but his program offers much more. It will provide you with the motivation and the passion you need to make a lasting change.


Paul began working out at age 12 and it's become his life's study some 21 years later. Paul started out with a cement set of weights and an exercise manual. From there he progressed into Sport Specific training. "I have to say weight training has helped me avoid injury during my years in organized sports. It has also helped me excel in sports," says Paul. Some of his highlights include:

Currently with 21 years of experience in Weight Training and 7 years experience in Personal Training, Paul has an excellent knowledge of proper form and technique. He holds Certifications from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (A.F.A.A.), and the American Council on Exercise (A.C.E.). Paul brings a good balance of experience and knowledge when it comes to Personal Training.


Pete Ciccone has extensive involvement in the fitness industry. Peter has been competitive bodybuilder since 1989. His involvement includes 8 years working for several sports nutrition companies. Peter is a baccalaureate level Registered Nurse, holding licensure in 3 states. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, through the prestigious NSCA. He is certified through the American Council on Exercise. He holds several nutritional certifications as well. Peter owns and runs 619 Muscle, Southern California's Sports nutrition authority, the biggest sports nutrition resource in the Southwest.


Meriza DeGuzman has been involved in fitness since 1998. She is a professional athlete, competing nationally for the IFBB - she competed this year in the world championship for the sport of Figure, the Ms. Olympia competition. Meriza is a certified personal trainer, holding credentials from 3 internationally recognized organizations, American Council on Exercise, AAFA, and Coopers Institute. Meriza's experience also includes her work for Bally Total Fitness as the Personal Training Director and Sales manager. She currently oversees the nutrition and training for several competitive Figure athletes as well as several general fitness athletes.


Josh Field has been involved in the fitness industry for six years. He is a certified personal trainer through the Cooper Institute of Fitness. He has served seven years in the United States Coast Guard as a Federal Maritime Law Enforcement Officer and is a Coast Guard Diver.

Josh's interest in health and fitness developed at the early age of 12, while watching professional fitness athletes on TV. He later joined the military where he first began working with individuals to achieve their personal fitness goals. Josh attended the Federal Military Health Promotion Coordination School in Ohio and it wasn't long before he was appointed as the Health and Wellness Coordinator of his Unit. As coordinator, he oversaw 32 people while helping the unit achieve it's best physical testing scores ever documented. Josh later transferred to San Diego where he was asked to fill the same position, this time training over 100 people while motivating them to reach high military fitness standards.

Josh has a strong passion for the fitness industry and is dedicated to his clients and their goals. Josh's military training has enabled him to see the importance of hard work and discipline, which he feels is the key to a successful workout regimen. Through leading by example and his commitment to fitness he is confident that he can help anyone achieve their fitness aspirations.


Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, Ozzy has lived in California for the past nine years. Ozzy is a certified personal trainer from ISSA [International Sports Sciences Association] with a great deal of experience in the fitness industry. Additionally, Ozzy has a Bachelors degree in International Business Management from [Bosphorus University], Europe and two certifications from San Diego State University, California. One is in Marketing and the second is in Foundation of American Business.

Throughout his life, Ozzy has always been involved in health and fitness. Before bodybuilding, he actively played for school teams including everything from basketball and soccer to table tennis and chess. He received a sports scholarship due to his success as an athlete. Bodybuilding developed as a new passion and he tested himself in two NPC competitions, each time placing in the top five among other athletes who later received professional standings. Ozzy's most recent undertaking is mixed martial arts, which also incorporates the challenge to the mind. Ozzy enjoys learning new ideas and is constantly pushing himself in the world of fitness.

"The fitness world is endless; there is always more to learn and experience. To embrace that knowledge, I have traveled the world and befriended successful, world-class athletes. I enjoy learning new training techniques from athletes in different sports," comments Ozzy. He's used his exposure to diverse methods to develop his own unique training practice. Ozzy focuses on combining both physical and mental work to create something really different in a short time. "We are all human and get affected by unfortunate external factors like stress, a busy business life, family issues, or even traffic on the road," observes Ozzy. He understands these issues and enjoys pushing his clients to different levels of fitness. Ozzy fully commits himself to ensure his clients get into the best shapes of their lives while enjoying their workouts and fitness programs. Ozzy not only focuses his clients in the right direction while at the gym, but he also educates them about how to maintain better and healthier lives outside of the gym.

One final thought from Ozzy, "Please do not forget... the healthier and more fit we are, the more confidence we gain in ourselves. Even though we do not realize it, feeling fit really affects our lives and helps us to reach our goals and catch the happiness. I view the cycle as a chain in which everything needs to be connected perfectly and physical health balances and completes that cycle. That is the key point!

Anthony was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area in Marin County, just north of San Francisco. Ever since high school, he has been passionate about health and fitness. Anthony dedicated himself to learning about and exploring the world of fitness since age 16. At the time when his passion started, he says that he could never have dreamed of what he has achieved today. Anthony placed second in a national body building competition when he was 20. Soon after, he received his personal training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He was also featured in two issues of Men's Workout magazine, a world-wide publication. Anthony received further certification by NESTA, the National Endurance Strength Training Association. He also appeared on national television for the "Bean" exercise ball.

Anthony notes, "I pride myself on setting a positive example for my clients by maintaining a strong, lean physique using the same discipline and hard work which I advocate to my clients. I use my knowledge and experience to create individual programs that incorporate lifestyle habits in order to optimize client training results."

Anthony's goal when training is to transfer his commitment and passion to his clients while guiding and supporting them to new levels of fitness. "The most rewarding parts of my work are the physical, tangible results I see every day and the feeling I get to know I have helped people improve their lives,"comments Anthony. He also prioritizes making and keeping lasting relationships with his clients, past or present. Anthony points out, "I am experienced, loyal, and enthusiastic and I will work you hard and make you proud of it!"


Adam Thibault has been involved in the fitness industry as a competitive athlete for the past seven years and as a Personal Trainer for the past three years. Adam is certified through the ISSA and is also the manager of 619 Muscle, a local health and nutrition store. Although relatively new to the industry, Adam is committed to the fitness lifestyle. He is always looking for ways to make exercise both effective and fun.
